In the early stages of design development, the interior designer works closely with the client to help build a ‘Mood Board.’ A Mood Board is a visual presentation consisting of images and samples of objects to aid in further design ideas and development. This is a great introduction to learning the clients needs and wants. New-Gen Design Build also sees great value in introducing the interior designer early on with the architect’s planning and development. Introducing the interior designer in the preliminary stages has proven to be very successful by both parties being able to share ideas and ultimately meet the needs and vision of the clients.

Through project development & construction, the interior designer aids in creating floor plans that illustrate locations of all interior elements with dimensions, a finishes plan that illustrates locations of all interior elements with materials and finishes, electrical plan that illustrates locations and types of electrical equipment for each space, kitchen elevations and renderings, & a finishes schedule that outlines details about the various materials and finishes selected. An interior designer will also aid in all material sourcing, colour selections, shopping trips, and extensive review and dialogue.

Our team of interior designers truly have a passion for what they do and are diverse in many styles of design such as Minimalist, Contemporary, Traditional, Transitional, Rustic, French Country, Shabby Chic, Coastal, Hollywood Regency, Scandinavian, Urban Modern, Bohemian, Mid-Century Modern, Industrial, Eclectic, Modern Farmhouse, Modern Century, Art Deco, & Asian Zen.
